Kier has been selected by joint developers Stanhope, Mitsui Fudosan and AIMCo to build 142 new affordable homes for housing association Peabody in two new buildings called Macfarlane Place.
Âé¶¹Éç of Macfarlane Place will start in March 2022 with delivery expected in early 2024.
Designed by Maccreanor Lavington Architects, the new buildings will replace the now demolished former BBC multi-storey car park on Wood Lane W12, opposite a Westfield shopping mall. They form part of the wider 14-acre, £600m Television Centre development, which will eventually have approximately 950 homes in total. Stanhope is the development manager for Television Centre and Cantillon was the demolition contractor for the multi-storey car park.
Office buildings on the Television Centre development include 1 Wood Crescent, a nine-storey building (10 including basement) with 111,765 sq ft of office space, designed by architect Morris & Company. Laing O’Rourke started construction of 1 Wood Crescent in January 2021 under a £60m contract and is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2023. [See our previous report here.]
