Description

Ceredigion County Council is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and competent Contractor for undertaking Gully Cleansing works.

The Contract will run from 1st July 2026 to 30th June 2029, with an option to extend for a further period of up to 24 months.

The exact hire time the unit(s) will be needed each year is uncertain and dependant on service requirements.

The estimated value is between 拢700,000 and 拢1,170,000 for the full term of the contract including all extensions. Please note that the contract value provided within this notice represents an estimate prepared by the Council. It is issued for guidance only and does not constitute a fixed budget or an indication of the expected contract price. Bidders are expected to submit a competitive bid based on market prices.

Description of risks to contract performance

Due to the nature of the subject matter of this contract, quantities delivered through the contract are dependant upon service requirements. In times of extreme weather requirements may increase.

Should a suppliers' environmental permit be revoked or any other issue occur that may have an effect upon the storage or disposal of waste, it may become necessary to make alternative arrangements to those stated in tendered submissions.

Justification for not publishing a preliminary market engagement notice

No preliminary market engagement was undertaken for this procurement. The requirement is for a well-established and commonly available gully cleansing service, and the Authority has sufficient knowledge of the market from previous procurements and existing operational experience. It was therefore considered that preliminary engagement would not add value to the procurement process.
