Handrail Systems offer probably the most comprehensive range of balustrades, handrails and associated products in the country. Our own Dryad Handrail range is well known throughout the industry.

From conception to completion, the designer is given every assistance experienced personel employed by the company. This service includes concept drawings and samples, site surveys and detailed fabrication drawings, prompt quotations, manufacture and installation.

Stainless Steel:

Balustrades are available in various designs in stainless steel.

The most cost effective is our standard Dryad balustrade, fabricated from either 45mm or 50mm dia tube and 10mm clear glass infill panels each mounted on 4No clips welded to uprights. Base fixing can be flanges or diamond drilled and grouted. All fixings into concrete with chemical anchors. Fixings to steel are by nut and bolt. Holes are drilled using a magnetic drill.

In lieu of glass, horizontal or vertical infills can be welded. Stainless steel cables are also optional as are perforated panels, acrylics, MDF and timber.

Powder Coated:

Balustrades and handrails which require a coloured finish are powder coated in either polyester or nylon. This is electrostatically sprayed on in powder form and baked in a oven for a specified length of time until hard. This type of finish is very durable, nylon more so than polyester thus slightly more expensive. Nylon is also a polymide coating thus feeling warmer to the touch and therefore suitable for DDA requirements.

An extensive range of colours are available from the European RAL range, British Standards range and also special non standard colours. Metallic colours are also available but these are more difficult to touch up if any damage occurs to the coating.

Structural Glass:

Structural glass balustrade is available in thickness from 12mm to 25mm dependant on building usage and loading requirements.

Timber Handrail:

Timber handrails are available with either powder coated steel, galvanised or stainless steel support brackets for wall mounted or alternatively used on top of balustrades.

Almost any profile is available but the standard ones are round and 40mm, 45mm or 50mm dia as recommended by the British Standards and Building regulations.

In addition to our balustrades and handrails we also manufacture and install stainless steel products for the leisure industry. Ranging from swimming pool fittings and balustrade to entry systems comprising of turnstiles, barriers and gates. A folder containing literature on all swimming pool products, stainless steel handrails, pool layout information and specification sheets for products from spring boards to handrails is available.
