The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) require employees to ensure that lift trucks are operated only by employees who have received appropriate training and assessed in accordance with the Code of Practice for lift trucks laid down by the Health and Safety Commission. The Code of Practice recognises Lantra Awards as an accrediting body for the training and assessment of lift truck operators.
